Have you been to www.8-Lug.com yet? We're trying hard to make it an interesting place for diesel and heavy-duty truck lovers. Why don't you surf on over there right now and contribute something? Post photos of your truck (we've already taken several from the 8-Lug web and put them in the print edition of 8-Lug), comment on stories that have run, add your wish list of stories you'd like to see, vent, praise, and more.
Included in that "and more" promise is some web-exclusive content and sneak previews of what's coming up. We're not afraid to put ourselves out there and tell you what's coming down the pike. And if you really liked an article about a truck or a show, wouldn't it stand to reason you would also like to see a bunch more photos that wouldn't fit into the print edition of 8-Lug? Or maybe watch a video interview of the guy or girl who built the truck that's featured in the current (or even a future) issue? We've got some cool stuff on there.
If you're a real fan of 8-Lug, and maybe if you're looking to catch the editor's eyes with your ride, you should pay particular attention to posts that tell you where our editors will be. With the instantaneous possibilities of the Internet, we are able to let readers know that one of our crew will be at an event and that you should look us up, show us your truck, and yak a bit. For example, we recently let everyone know we were going to be at the Pep Boys Speed Shop grand opening. If you had noticed that on the web page, you could have cruised down there and given us the nickel tour of your truck. Chances are, you would get a feature shot, or at least be entered into Bragging Rights (our version of Readers' Rides). It pays to be in our face.

All right, enough about the website already. What else is going on in the 8-Lug world? Well, we're pretty proud of the fact that our magazine is selling more and more copies every month. In a time when magazines in general (and diesel magazines in particular) are losing readers steadily, 8-Lug has been on a steady rise for the past year. Just about every issue sells more than the last one. I think we're starting to get traction and the attention from the diesel and heavy-duty truck world is turning in our direction. Hey, nothing against those other diesel magazines, we just think it's obvious we are doing a great job and people pick up on that.
We've got a lot of great articles in this issue, from a Superlift installation on a Dodge to not one, but two different stories on brakes (that don't involve the wheel brakes). The first is a traditional exhaust brake and the second is the SpeedBrake from Banks, which does everything electronically. Add those to the bevy of beautiful truck features, and we're sure we'll sell more copies of this issue, too.
