If you’re a stereo enthusiast, you probably know all about Daytona’s annual Spring Break Nationals Car Audio Expo and Tuner Jam. Mobile electronics enthusiasts come from around the world to reacquaint with old friends, take part in the Great American Sound Off, and participate in some great car audio giveaways in the process.
The top contenders had their...
The top contenders had their talents recognized and took home lasting reminders of a good time from this stereo-oriented event.
Judges from the International Auto Sound Challenge Association (IASCA) rate the sound and installation quality of the competition vehicles and check sound pressure levels (SPL) to see which vehicle really does the best job of rattling windows! Competition on half a dozen different levels meant there was something for everybody. If you’re just getting started in the stereo field, the Manufacturers’ Expo was the perfect opportunity to compare the leading brands of mobile electronics. Proudly displaying all the latest products, industry reps were happy to answer your questions and help you make the right decisions when establishing or expanding your system.
Of course, one of the highlights of the event was the first-class car show inside the Daytona Beach Convention Center. Although there were lots of cars on display, many stereophiles have now realized that big trucks have lots of room and can easily handle the largest and most sophisticated systems. As a result, dozens of our favorite heavy-duty, eight-lug vehicles were on display—not only showcasing their lifted suspensions but also their elaborate stereo systems, typically overflowing from the cab to the bed. Take a look at some of the top contenders and put this annual event on your 2012 calendar. For more details, check out www.springbreaknationals.com.
