Marty Garza at Truck Toys...
Marty Garza at Truck Toys Performance in McAllen, Texas, really went all out on this Cummins-powered '08 Ford F-250 Super Duty.
When a "very special" customer from the Middle East comes to you with specific extreme performance and reliability requirements for a custom truck and budget is practically not even an issue, the end result can be quite amazing. Marty Garza at Truck Toyz Performance (www.trucktoyzperformance.com) in McAllen, Texas, has built some pretty high-end projects, and he was more than happy to spearhead just such a build. The '08 Cummins-powered Ford you see here is the result.
The customer wanted to be able to cross the desert at a high rate of speed but still be able to tow a trailer when he wanted to. And this was certainly not going to be a Spartan affair, as the word "luxury" crept into the conversation more than a few times.
The totally trick twin-turbo...
The totally trick twin-turbo Cummins engine was custom-built by Joe Hellmann of Hellmann Performance (Richmond, Texas).
After assessing these requirements, Truck Toyz concluded that the best alternative was to swap the Ford's stock 6.4L International engine for a twin-turbo 5.9L Cummins. Hellmann Performance was entrusted to build the engine and custom plumbing for the turbos in order to achieve the lofty goal of 950 hp.

The suspension requirements would also demand a ground-up approach. Dave Hoppert of One Up Offroad was tasked to 3D-engineer a state-of-the-art 12-inch-travel suspension system that would be capable of reliably soaking up high-speed blasts through the desert sands. Dave spent an extensive amount of time engineering a long-travel suspension system that would also allow for a low ride height and a high level of stability. In addition to the ability to harness the extreme horsepower and torque, the rear suspension would also be called upon to tow a trailer from time to time. These requirements were satisfied by the use of OUO's patented Traction Block System, which allowed for increased ride height without sacrificing articulation or load capacity. Other system highlights from One Up Offroad include: full race coils, adjustable coil perches, adjustable front link arms, a heavy-duty adjustable drag link, a front axle truss with dual steering stabilizers, and bypass shocks.
Luxury was also a high priority for the build, so Truck Toyz went to great lengths to use leather throughout the interior-from the seats, dashboard, and door panels to the pillars and consoles-and it was all topped by a suede headliner.
What's next on the Truck Toyz agenda? Marty hints that an '11 Ford just might be getting a 16-inch lift from One Up Offroad. That we just have to see.
