Steve Caspary’s ’06 Dodge...
Steve Caspary’s ’06 Dodge Ram 2500 is the kind of truck that makes heads turn without turning purists off.
Steve Caspary of Morgan Hill, California, is one of those guys who knows how to build a truck that gets attention without going overboard into cartoon land. This ’06 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab is understated in white with a relatively small graphic for his detailing company, but it was lifted a full 10 inches using a Full Throttle Suspension kit and chrome Fox Shox.
Custom ladder bars keep the suspension working freely, while the Performance Steering Components parts manage to keep the Ram going straight down the highway. With a big lift, you’ve got to have big wheels and tires, so Steve turned to 24-inch RBP 96R wheels with 38-inch Nitto Trail Grappler tires.
Spinning all that rubber down the road can take a bit of horsepower, so Steve installed an AFE Stage II intake, MBRP 5-inch exhaust (with 8-inch RBP tip), and an electronic cutout. A Holset turbo and aftermarket injectors (along with an Edge Juice with Attitude in a pod) help boost the power of the 5.9L Cummins into the 500hp range, according to Steve.
All this power surely increases operating temperatures, so Steve installed a Mag-Hytec transmission pan and differential covers. He drives the truck virtually every day, so it has to be solidly reliable.
Steve does have ideas of jazzing the truck up a bit—maybe adding some flames and an N-Fab bumper. He just doesn’t want to go too far.
Oh, did we mention the truck has a stripper pole in it? Yes, yes it does. Maybe he did go too far after all.
