Seventeen-year-old Ryan Brewart of Upland, California, knew what he was doing when he had this '07 Chevy Silverado 2500HD truck built. He likes fire. No, not like that-in a good way. As in a putting-out-the-fires kind of way. So it made perfect sense that his new diesel pickup would be red. He calls it Big Red, in fact. And it made even more sense to have realistic-looking flames painted on it.
The project started out with a 6-inch lift from CST to really get the truck up in the air. Custom shocks from King were painted black with chrome to accent the corners. After that, a set of 20-inch XD Hoss wheels were installed along with 35-inch Toyo Open Country tires. A Mag-Hytec rear differential cover protects and improves the looks of the rearend.
With the extra rotating mass, Ryan knew he had to up the power output, so he turned to Accessory House in Montclair, California, for an RBP tuner. Ryan has the RBP Duramax chip set at Stage 2 for 90 extra horsepower. An all-chrome, turbo-back exhaust from RBP also boosts power and makes the truck sound better. Ryan also hooked up the truck with a flame grille, HID Nocturnal headlights, Gripper flame door handles, and other trick accessories.
An extended visit to Santana's Auto Shop resulted in the front bumper being painted red to match the truck, as was the top of the rear bumper. One Xtreme really advanced the project by painting on the realistic-looking flames.
