Sean Baisden is called Pitbull by anyone who knows him. It could be because of his choice of dogs, or it could be the way he attacks a project. We're not sure, but we can verify that he attacks projects with a vengeance. He has never built anything that was less than amazing.
He recently spun off his own business, Pitbull Motor Toyz (805-432-1036) in Simi Valley, California, and is building some sick trucks for customers too. This, his shop truck if you will, is an '08 Chevy 2500HD LTZ Duramax Crew Cab 4x4 longbed. The truck was maxed out with options at the dealer.
"We at Pitbull Motor Toyz," Sean said, "started with an 11-inch CST lift, a custom front skidplate and traction bars, and then powdercoated everything candy red. It's got 40-inch Toyo tires on a set of 22-inch Gear Alloy 715 chrome wheels (we powdercoated the centers candy red to match the lift components). The truck is outfitted with Amp Research power steps, MSD digital propane injection, ANSA dual exhaust, a PPE programmer, an Injen cold air system, Air Flex air suspension, Helwig sway bars, a FASS fuel lift pump/filter system, a Transfer Flow 56-gallon fuel tank, and more."
He went on, "Forty pieces have been removed from the interior, sanded, and painted to match the truck. Our friends over at The Upholstery Zone did the headliner, door panels, seats, speaker pods, sub box, and dash by covering them in black leather and charcoal and wine colored suede to accent the interior. It was then to the paint shop where Jerry at Jerk's Design put his twist on it with a custom gun metal gray and candy red tribal flame paint job, and then finished it off with a set of pearl ghost flames over the top."
The Pioneer D3 head unit pumps out the sound from a Rockford Fosgate 1,500-watt amp for the two 12-inch subs under the rear seat and four Rockford Fosgate 600-watt amps for the eight mids and six tweeters in the doors and pillars.
