Mike Minter of Arlington, Texas, felt a strong urge to let firefighters know how much he appreciates the work they do. Mike thinks most Americans have a strong affinity for those who run into burning, crumbling buildings, so he worked on his '09 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with the men and women who give so much at the forefront of his mind.
The truck had to be red, of course, and it had to have some diamond-plate on it. The red came via the factory, but the diamond-plate was courtesy of Better Built in the form of a toolbox in the bed.
The thing that gets a lot of people's attention, however, is the 10 inches of lift the truck got thanks to the Rize Industries kit. No doubt, the 20-inch Rize reservoir shocks get a lot of attention, too. The rear traction bars are like eye magnets, and anyone who takes the time to look will notice the BMF S.O.T.A. 8 20-inch wheels and Toyo Mud-Terrain 38-inch tires.
The engine was beefed up with a K&N FilterCharger, MBRP stainless steel exhaust, and an Edge CTS Race tuner. The factory Allison 1000 transmission uses a stock torque converter, while the 4:10 gears in the differential combine with the factory Positraction for some get-up-and-go.
While Mike points out that he wants the attention to go to the firefighters, he hasn't seemed to mind the girls who tend to gather around his truck everywhere he goes.
