Everybody at the SEMA show was referring to this outrageous '07 Ford F-750 as the Shaq Daddy, even though the famous basketball player has nothing to do with the truck. It's just that impressive.
Converted to a six-door XUV by Alton Company in Pigeon, Michigan (www.altonco.com), there's not too much out there on the road that can compare. A fiberglass Mustang GT hood was glassed onto the top of the stock hood. The stock headlights were replaced with a late-model F-150's. The front bumper is a fiberglass unit installed by Alton. The side skirts and rear bumper were designed and prototyped out of steel by Kelderman Manufacturing, then Alton used the prototypes to make fiberglass molds. Eight Optima batteries are hidden behind the side skirting.
The roof is fiberglass (another Alton creation), as are the dualie rear fenders. The front windshield visor is a Ford part, and all the lights are from Recon Truck Accessories. The power mirrors are '08 Ford F-series.
The suspension on a truck this massive must be capable yet smooth, since this truck is practically a limo. Kelderman Manufacturing's Air Ride production four-link suspension was used on the front, while the rear is the factory Ford equipment. To make the ride super smooth, Alton set the cab on six airbags. That took 1,800 hours to complete and represents about $275,000 in work.
The door handles were shaved (removed, for those without a hot rod background), and Spal door poppers were installed (a remote button pops the door open so you can get in).
A truck this sweet can't run with factory paint, so Devore Motors in Knoxville, Iowa, sprayed PPG paint on it for a flawless finish.
Diesel Wheels (www.dieselwheels.com) supplied the black chrome wheels, and Sumitomo tires (315/80R22.5 on the dualie rears and 385/65R22.5 on the front) provide the traction.
Superior Seating in Elkhart, Indiana, supplied the seats, and Alton did the rest of the super-plush interior. An overhead console with blue and white LED lighting combines with the suede headliner to really inspire awe. Nine people can be seated comfortably in the six captain's chairs and one powered rear bench seat.
This is truly a one-of-a-kind truck that raises the bar for anyone who thinks they know what luxury trucks should be.
