Eric Seeley knew what he wanted...
Eric Seeley knew what he wanted to build when he started customizing his '08 Ford F-450-and he knew who he wanted to work on it, too.
Eric Seeley of Lees Summit, Missouri , has some nice toys. He's built some cool trucks, has a 42-foot Fountain powerboat, and more. He knows what he likes. And it ain't flames, graphics, and wild colors. Nope, Eric likes things more subtle and sophisticated.
And he knew just where to turn, too. He worked with the crew at Kelderman Manufacturing before and knew they had the in-house talent to implement both their knowledge and creativity along with Eric's ideas. "I'm not into flames, wraps, or over-the-top graphics that are on a lot of custom trucks," Eric told us. "Nothing against those trucks, but I just wanted to build a truck that caught your eye with its subtle boldness, and I think it does."
With some additional help from Chux Trux in Independence, Missouri, the '08 Ford F-450 came together beautifully. What would Eric do differently next time? "Honestly? Nothing. Kelderman and Chux Trux helped me build what I would call a perfect truck. This one will be hard to top in my eyes."
Without a doubt, the 8-inch adjustable air ride suspension from Kelderman is the highlight of the undercarriage. A lot of custom parts were built and all of the suspension components were powdercoated or chromed. Dual Sway-A-Way shocks control all four corners.
Taking advantage of the added room in the wheelwells, Eric had a set of 24-inch Diesel Wheels mounted up with Toyo Mud Grappler tires (37x13.5-24).
Eric wanted more power, so he had the crew install an SCT Off-Road Extreme Tune with DPF delete. The incoming air was improved with an Airaid intake and the spent gases were handled better after the installation of a MagnaFlow 4-inch exhaust. Eric estimates the horsepower at 500 at the flywheel and fuel mileage at about 10 mpg.
The Stereo
The stereo system was installed by Independence Audio in Independence, Missouri. The components consist of a Kenwood DDX 7019 touch screen head unit, JL Audio ZR 570 front speakers, JL Audio C5 5x7s in the rear, two JL Audio 500/1 amps for the subs, and a JL Audio 300/4 amp for the front and rear speakers. A JL Audio Super Duty Stealthbox enclosure with one 8w7 sub and a custom enclosure for a second 8w7 sub handles the low tones.
