Come On!
I read the "Veggie Burner" article by Isaac Mion. These type of articles cause me pain, especially when in the sidebars there are statements like: "a gallon to warm up and the rest is freeee!" Come on! I can tell he has never run a drop of his own oil-someone drops a pretty truck off and he gets to play. Let me know when he has traveled a 70-mile circuit sucking up or picking up barrels of oil (some of which the employees care not what they put in your oil). Your poor, old Dodge will have a coat of veggie that is not coming off anytime soon. Even if the weather sucks too bad to make the trip, you still have to pick up the oil you committed to pick up. And then you've got to get it back home to stuff it in your barrels or it will turn to junk. And once you get it home, there is storage, then cleaning, then filtering, then clean storage. That 114-mpg truck would not get anywhere near that kind of mess-so spare me the freeee stuff. At least take the time to find out how long it takes to get the freeee oil, then store and process it! Thank you for letting me vent.

Sometimes the cost of free things is too high.
It Lives!
The last time I emailed you was when I sent pictures of my Excursion pulling a trailer with my smashed-up F-350 loaded on top. I buy every copy of 8-Lug and saw that picture and the write-up in the May '09 issue, so thanks again for letting me be a part of your awesome magazine and also for having my truck on your website. Anyway, a couple of buddies and I tore down the F-350, inspected everything, replaced a few parts, pulled the Excursion into the shop, and gave it a new look. I attached a couple of pictures of my (dirty) Excursion at work. I have more (clean) pictures of the Excursion, the build, and my F-350 (R.I.P.) posted on car domain if you want to check it out. The link is www.cardomain.com/ride/3346816/3. Another member of that car domain website recognized my truck from the January '09 Issue of 8-Lug and commented on it. I want to add some more mods before I send you new photos-my Excursion does not quite meet my expectations yet. I am thinking of shooting in the snow this winter if I can afford all of the mods that I want. Let me know what you think. I ordered a roof rack in May and it is supposed to arrive on my front door this Friday, then it's off to the powdercoating shop. I want to put my matching spare tire on top, along with some lights, stereo equipment-and a list of mods that never ends!!! Talk to you soon.
Dallas Gair That's great, Dallas. Send photos when you are done.
Swap It!
I've been seeing pictures and reading about people who have put an '08 Super Duty front end on their '99 to '04 Super Dutys but haven't been able to contact anyone on the subject. I was just wondering if you knew anything about it or if you could refer me to someone?

No idea where you should go, Christian. Maybe one of our readers can steer you in the right direction.
First Time!
Never seen your magazine before. I have an '05 Dodge diesel looking for an engine and transmission tips.

Glad you found us on our website, Steve. Now go to a big bookstore (like Barnes & Noble), or Walmart, or Fry's Electronics, etc. and find 8-Lug. You'll find plenty of tips if you start picking up the magazine.
Me Too!
My buddies and I have custom '08 Duramax trucks. These trucks are powdercoated and chromed. They are magazine-quality trucks, but we've never tried to put them in any magazines, so I'm wondering how to get them in 8-Lug. I can send pictures or whatever you want. Please contact me by phone or email-they are worth your time. Thanks.

Jonny, just like we tell everyone...simply send a photo and some info to Bob.Carpenter@sorc.com and we'll consider your truck for a feature or Bragging Rights.
Pick Me!
I'm curious about writing articles for 8-Lug. I have always thought about writing an article for a magazine I am familiar with. There is a sled pull event coming up near me. I would like to know how one would go about covering the event with pictures, results, and a nice write-up of the event. That is of course only if one of your writers doesn't already have plans to cover it.
