Rock & Roll Offroad Motorsports
A huge grand opening celebrated the launch of Rock & Roll Offroad Motorsports' new Dallas/Ft.Worth location. The North Richland Hills store is more than just a customization shop. Jared Pugh, president of Rock & Roll Offroad Motorsports, said, "Our new location is easy to find and provides us with lots of showroom space. We will also have six oversized work bays to accommodate even the biggest vehicles. We stock a huge selection of accessories, including our own exclusive line of flanges, door handles, and lighting. Plus, we have a certified diesel mechanic on staff. Our customers know that R&R provides them with creative ideas and the best parts and service."
In addition to offering a wide selection of accessories, R&R also offers general fabrication, custom suspensions, nitrogen shock filling, performance tires and wheels, diesel performance upgrades, race prep, and more. The store number is 817/485-2600.
We hear there are at least two good reasons to shop with the guys and gals at R&R:
1. They enjoy taking on big projects that involve lots of imagination, and they take a lot of time collaborating with the customer on what will look and work best on each vehicle. It's why they're in this business.
2.They have a large selection of merchandise in stock, and the central DFW location allows them to get most other products very quickly. They also ship UPS nationwide and internationally.

Banks And Bosch
Talk Clean Fuel
Gale Banks, owner of Banks Power, and Lars Ullrich from Bosch joined the Motor Press Guild recently for a diesel panel. Ullrich talked about clean diesel technology and stated, "Clean diesel vehicles are good, clean, and fun to drive. They achieve an average of 30 percent better fuel economy than their gasoline-powered equivalents. In addition, clean diesel emits 25 percent less greenhouse-gas emissions. With ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel and the new clean diesel technology, it also meets emission requirements in all 50 states."
Banks talked about some of the advanced diesel technology his company has been working on and then educated the packed audience about the latest developments in biofuels, particularly algae fuel.
Power Stroke V-8
There's a big buzz in the diesel community since details of the new Ford 6.7L Power Stroke engine started leaking out. Slated to be in the '11 F-Series Super Duty line, the engine is simplified and has an inboard exhaust and the intake on the outside. The "inside out" configuration helps boost turbocharger response and even makes it easier to service major components. Speculation is that the engine will have more than 350 hp and more than 650 lb-ft of torque-plus significantly better fuel economy.
