Just Wondering
“Hi, I was just wondering if I could get my truck in your mag’s readers’ rides section—or even a mini feature,” wrote Jason Mitchell. Well, of course you can, Jason! We always say that it’s the easiest thing in the world to do here at 8-Lug. Just send a photo and some info about the truck (and yourself) to
Bob.Carpenter@sorc.com. Jason’s ’03 Ford F-350 is a daily driver with a lot of mods. The 8-inch Pro Comp lift sets the tone and makes plenty of room for the 20-inch KMC Moto Metal wheels. A Sun Coast HP tranny and Sun Coast HP triple-disc torque converter keep the truck on the road. A Mag-Hytec tranny and diff covers protect and cool the vital oils. A Banks Techni-Cooler and Quick-Turbo housing and compressor wheel kit increase the boost. A Banks BigHead turbo actuator combines with an Edge HP programmer (stacked with the Banks Six-Gun and Big Hoss) to really boost the horsepower.
Working Out the Bugs
Tony Fehrenbacher’s ’11 Ford F-250 Lariat has a 6-inch Rough Country lift that allows for 37-inch Nitto Trail Grappler tires and 20x9 Hoss series wheels. A recently installed dual steering stabilizer has helped tame the big tires on the highway. “Everything else,” Tony says, “is stock for the moment. I’m waiting to get all the bugs worked out of the tuners and delete pipes.”
Company Truck No More
“Here is my truck, it’s a ’97 2500,” wrote Robert J. Fishel. “It was my dad’s company truck and was given to me the day after he passed away by his boss.” That was in December 2010. “So far,” Robert told us, “I had the fuel turned up and monster exhaust installed. Everyone tells me once you start modifying diesel pickups, it’s an ongoing passion. The lift and wheels are on the way.”
