One thing that sets a really nice eight-lug truck apart is performance lighting. You just can't look at an expertly outfitted truck without knowing it means business. And that's not even taking into consideration the function of good accessory lighting. If you ever drive off-road, or down dark alleys, the addition of some serious candlepower will make your nights a lot more comfortable.
We visited the crew at LightForce Performance Lighting in Corona, California, where they were in the process of installing some DL240 100-watt lights on an '06 Dodge. Follow along and learn what's involved and what sets LightForce apart from the rest.

The DL240 HID lights that LightForce installed on the Dodge are manufactured from a lightweight carbon-composite construction and feature a nearly indestructible XHT polycarb filter lens system. Light output is an amazing 1 lux at 1,312 yards. That's enough light to read a newspaper at more than 13 football fields away!

Keith Kangaroo, the LightForce official mascot, keeps a watchful eye on the staff and quality of product to ensure happy customers. Look for Keith at a show or event near you. It has become a quirky habit of customers to send in photos of their Keith Kangaroo in a wild variety of locations and situations.

LightForce manufactures its DL240 in both HID and XGT (xenophot gas) versions. For this install, we chose three of its top guns of power and performance. The Trophy Truck on the side of the box says it all. With more than two dozen Baja wins and measuring in at 9.5 inches tall, this light means serious lighting business!

The DL240 HID and XGT models...

The DL240 HID and XGT models do not come with a supplied wiring harness, so we chose to go with LightForce's heavy-duty wiring kit, featuring a 40-amp relay and wiring heavy enough for up to 35 amps of continued power draw.

While the Fab Fours bumper's factory foglights provide decent short-distance lighting, late nights hauling toys to the desert and mountains require more illumination.
